A Review: FASTEC User Forum 2022

We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who took part. Two days full of exciting insights, interesting exchanges and lots of new ideas. The user forum under the theme "Simply get started – the path to digital production" and the event the evening before were a great success!

Our FASTEC user forum took place in Paderborn on 20. September 2022. All participants who arrived the day before were able to get to know each other during our pre-event program, experiencing Paderborn from its most beautiful sides and getting in the mood for the following day.

Pre-Event Program

In the afternoon, guests who had traveled a long way to the event recovered from their journey with coffee and cake or a sightseeing flight in a motor glider over the Paderborn plateau.

In the evening, more than 100 customers, interested parties and FASTEC experts came together for dinner in a relaxed atmosphere in the Paderborn brewery. A champagne reception, delicious food, regional specialties and conversation late into the evening – it was a pleasure to welcome everyone in person after a long time.

User Forum on 20. September 2022

1. Best Practice Lectures

After a small breakfast and initial discussions over coffee, the official part of the event began with our management welcoming the 120 guests. The program was opened by our keynote speaker Dr.-Ing. Sebastian von Enzberg, Group Leader Production Management at the Fraunhofer Institute for Design Technology, Mechatronics IEM with his lecture on “Industrial Analytics Excellence  The Transformation to Data-Driven Production”.

Our user forum thrived on contributions from the practical experience of our customers, because nobody can explain the advantages and benefits of our software solution as well as the users themselves. We are therefore delighted that two of our customers presented their solutions with FASTEC 4 PRO.

  • Jörg Maxara, Technology/Project Management, at apetito AG, a medium-sized company from Germany, spoke on the topic of “The smart way to transparent production”.
  • Sven Katzky, EMEA Director Operation Excellence & Lean, at Bausch Health Inc, a global pharmaceutical company with international plants connected to FASTEC 4 PRO, reported on the topic of “Setting global standards”.

The different perspectives were particularly interesting, showing that our software solution is not only worthwhile for corporations, but can also achieve sustainable production optimization in medium-sized companies.

2. FASTEC Theme Area

Strengthened by delicious finger food and regional drinks, participants were able to find out all about our digital production solutions at our trade fair exhibition.

At the booth for potential analysis with easyOEE, interested parties were able to get a clear explanation of the simple introduction to digital production data acquisition. Our colleague explained the simple functionality of the entry-level solution using a Montrac system.

Advanced FASTEC users were also able to learn new things at the exhibition. We had prepared “info packs” on tablets with tips and tricks for FASTEC 4 PRO in video format. These presented functionalities that are not obvious at first glance, but are very helpful for getting the maximum benefit from the software for your own company.

3. Partner Exhibition

We are very pleased that some of our partners were also on site as exhibitors and presented their digital solutions to the participants, which can be optimally combined with FASTEC 4 PRO. In addition, customers were able to obtain advice on possible funding for their digitalization projects. Many thanks at this point to CAITRON GmbH, Freiraum Bande GbR, Gustav Wilms oHG and paiqo GmbH for the appealing insights, impulses and the exchange.

4. FASTEC 4 YOU Release

The new user network “FASTEC 4 YOU” made its first appearance at the user forum. Under the motto “Experts for experts – combining user expertise, developing visions together”, participants should be able to get the full potential out of their software solution through exchange and participation. Enthusiastic FASTEC 4 PRO users have long wished for a network for mutual exchange. We are now fulfilling this wish with our own platform and regular events. More information about the network and participation can be found here

I have been wishing for a FASTEC user group for some time and am therefore all the more pleased to be able to accompany and help shape this project from the very beginning.

5. Raffle

Apart from the exhibition room, there was the opportunity to win attractive prizes at the interview booth. Those who agreed to a short interview with us were allowed to spin the FASTEC wheel of fortune and had the chance to win one of the three main prizes: two Sonos Roam SL and a Jochen Schweizer voucher. Congratulations to Mr. Jose F., Mr. Andreas L. and Mr. Martin K.!

The user forum was an inspiring event for us thanks to the intensive exchange of ideas, extensive professional input on digital transformation and personal encounters in a relaxed atmosphere. Many thanks to everyone who helped shape these exciting days.
