Under the motto “A community worth its weight in gold – transparent, digital, data-driven,” more than 60 participants, primarily from the food industry, attended the event and gained behind-the-scenes insights.
The day began with presentations by Goldschmaus on the introduction of the project and their experiences with FASTEC 4 PRO so far. This was followed by a shuttle transfer to the plant. There, participants explored different production areas in three groups – filling, packaging, and final packaging – and experienced FASTEC stations in operation. This provided a clear understanding of how digital data acquisition works in daily production and creates tangible value.
Precise Data, Maximum Performance: OPC UA and OEE at Goldschmaus
Using OPC UA and operator input, FASTEC 4 PRO captures all relevant machine data and automatically links it with production orders from the ERP system. The result is consistently high data accuracy – without manual intervention and without media discontinuities.
The real-time data generated in this way offers two key advantages: it is not only of high quality but also provides valuable insights into shopfloor processes. Weak points become visible before they turn into problems, and optimization potential can be addressed in a targeted manner.
The OEE KPIs calculated on this basis have become a central control instrument for Goldschmaus. Day by day, they show how close production is operating to its performance limits – and where there is still room for improvement.
Afterwards, a joint barbecue provided an opportunity for networking and professional exchange. Building on these practical insights, participants discussed their impressions and explored concrete approaches for their own production before the program continued with a focus on specific optimization successes.

We were able to save two shifts per week and significantly reduce giveaway through the use of FASTEC 4 PRO
