Combining theory and practice at an early stage is a central component of the FASTEC training program.
“The complexity and fields of application of modular MES software are best understood in a real production environment,” explains FASTEC Managing Director Christian Reusch.
That’s why we regularly visit our customers with new employees. In dialogue with the users, it is much easier to understand how our software specifically supports the optimization of production processes.”
At the invitation of Conrad Stanztechnik GmbH, Paderborn, nine FASTEC employees, including four trainees and dual students, were able to take a look behind the scenes at the specialist for sophisticated stamped and bent parts.
Since 1986, Conrad has stood for the highest quality in the processing of steel, spring/stainless steel and non-ferrous metal in wire or strip, bright or pre-galvanized. The maximum strip width is 80 mm and the strip thickness is max. 2 mm, depending on the size of the item. “Our stamping shop is characterized by a machine park that is capable of manufacturing a wide range of different sized and complex products,” explains Production Manager Werner Kröger at the beginning of the visit. Conrad manufactures exclusively with BIHLER stamping and bending machines. This technology makes it possible to manufacture an entire product family cost-effectively from an individually designed tool by exchanging simple tool components (cutting punch / bending punch). Various queries integrated into the tool and machine ensure consistent, reproducible quality. Sensors monitor cutting forces, openings and strip quality, for example.
Conrad Stanztechnik decided to introduce FASTEC 4 PRO at the beginning of 2018 so that it can react even faster to customer requirements and improve the production process in the long term. “MDA, PDA and Detailed Scheduling are just the beginning. The acceptance among our workforce is excellent, and the improvements achieved with FASTEC 4 PRO speak for themselves,” summarizes authorized signatory Torsten Nasgowitz and closes with the words “We still have a lot planned.” Naturally, the FASTEC employees were happy to hear this in the presence of Managing Director Christian Reusch.
