An MES solution alone cannot improve production results, as deriving and implementing measures from the collected data is just as crucial.
In order to support companies in this area, the forming technology expert panel took place for the first time on June 6, providing an in-depth and industry-specific perspective on the topic of OEE.
During the one-day seminar, the participants were trained and individually supported by our speaker, Mr. Gerhard Jabs, in a small group. Mr. Jabs, Head of Process Improvement at tk Hohenlimburg GmbH, can draw on more than 20 years of experience in the automotive supply industry with a focus on industrial engineering, Kaizen/KVP and production controlling, which enabled him to provide the participants with targeted and personal advice and lead the event with examples from his own practical experience.
The OEEadvanced Method
The main topic of the in-house seminar was the introduction to the OEEadvanced method developed by our speaker, in which the common OEE value is extended by a key value, the degree of innovation. The aim of the method is to show all production potentials and to define a binding basis for measuring effectiveness as well as to present complex production processes in a simple and transparent way and to create the possibility of showing the comparability of processes and procedures.
Participant Feedback
“I was particularly impressed by the practical approach to the seminar content,” summarized one participant. “I was also impressed by how quickly you can identify technical potential with the OEEadvanced method – by slightly expanding the standard OEE, the OEEadvanced value can be used even more effectively as a key performance indicator.”
Seminar speaker Gerhard Jabs adds: “For me, it is always enriching to learn how OEE is practiced in other companies. I find the positively surprised participants, some of whom have been working with the familiar OEE value for decades and who are suddenly given a different perspective on this familiar topic, particularly motivating for my work. I am particularly pleased that the seminar was specifically geared towards the forming technology sector. In this way, everyone – including me personally – can get the maximum benefit from this day. I am already looking forward to the next seminar together with FASTEC.”
